Shimano Baitcasting Reels
Shimano reels have been around since the early twenties, when Shozaburo Shimano established his company, whose name has become synonymous with the word fishing. What makes Shimano baitcast reels different is that they incorporate avant garde technology into making their products. Among the conventional baitcasting reels that Shimano offers is the Tiagra 12. It is described as a “true light line reel”, taking its name from the 12-pound test that it was optimized for. Meanwhile, the Tiagra 16 features the Long Range Special drag curve or LRS for short. The LRS is a steep curve that is made so that anglers can maximize the maximum drag settings that this Shimano baitcast reel has. The Tiagra 16 is made from a machined aluminum frame and side plates, a cold forged aluminum spool, an ergonomic power handle, anti-rust bearings, a twin disk drag system and a ratcheting drag lever.
