The Penn Fishing company was founded by Otto Henze, who immigrated from Germany to work in the US at the Ocean City Reel Company in Philadelphia. His experience in this company inspired him to build a company of his own one day. His dreams turned into reality in 1932, when he resigned from his job at Ocean City Reel Co. and put up the Penn Fishing Tackle Company. The Penn International reel has various models to fit your baitcasting needs. The International 965 has a two hundred and forty yard capacity. It has a gear ratio of 4:7:1. The Penn International fishing reel 975 model meanwhile has a three hundred and forty yard mono capacity and a 4:5:1 gear ratio. The 975 CSLD and 975 LD have mono capacities of three hundred yards and 4:4:1 gear ratios. Another Penn baitcasting reel is the Sargus Baitcast. This has an HT-100 drag, machined cut brass main gears, has dual casting controls that are external and adjustable.
